WILFORD VILLAGE BUS TOO SMALL
The 171 bus serving Silverdale and Wilford village is overcrowded in the early morning peak. The current vehicle seats only 13 persons. Before 9am on weekdays, the bus has passengers standing all the way from Wilford village to Nottingham city centre. To avoid this, some village residents walk all the way to Wilford crossroads to catch a bus. Local councillors have been pressing NCT for improvements for over a year.
REOPENING OF PHASE II INQUIRY
The Inquiry on Phase II is set to reopen. Barton Parish Council questions whether designation of part of Clifton Pastures, next to the proposed tram terminus, was considered earlier this year. Numerous Golden Plover birds have been sighted lately. Also, Rushcliffe Borough objects to the CPO for land exchange with the proposed Silverdale public open space to replace Wilford embankment south. The Two Inquiries will be held back-to-back at the Notts County FC Ground, Meadow Lane October 07 to 10.

SILVERDALE REPLACEMENT PUBLIC OPEN SPACE
At the Inquiry, the Notts Wildlife Trust dislikes the Silverdale replacement public open space, claiming it would take at least 20 years for the vegetation and wildlife to be mature enough for Site of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINC) status. The Environment Not Trams group considers the site is a long walk from Compton Acres.
